Our current read is AIN’T NO GRAVE by Mary Glickman (fiction, 20i24, 264 pgs.) This year there are two short ONE BAY ONE BOOK selections. Both take place in the American South. Last month we discussed GOYHOOD by s.pies. Reuven Fenton. Glickman’s book is the other selection. We borrowed 12 copies from the SF Jewish Community Library. It takes place in the early 1900s and is a page-turner. A few still available. No waiting list for e-books and audio-books at the SFJCLib. — go to jewishcommunitylibrary.org. We’ll discuss it on January 19 in a member’s home. OPEN TO ALL CBA MEMBERS AND FRIENDS.
ON JANUARY 12, 2 PM, the SFJCL presents a virtual talk — THE CHIEF RABBI’S FUNERAL: THE STORY OF AMERICA’S LARGEST ANTI-SEMITIC RIOT. It takes place in 1902 New York. Eli Cohen knows of it, but many of us could use an education. OPEN TO ALL CBA MEMBERS AND FRIENDS. We’ll view it together at CBA. RABBI WILL LEAD A DISCUSSION AFTERWARDS. NO READING AHEAD NECESSARY.
The SFJCL’s Fall/Winter 2024-25 pamphlet of events is still available in the narthex or online. You must register with the library for their many programs ahead of time. Questions or comments — Linda 707-544-4532
