We have an abundant and diverse plant and wildlife community here in Sonoma County. We are known as one of the most biodiverse areas in the world. Living in Sonoma County is wonderful and carries responsibility for all of us to take care of it with Tikkun Olam. Join us and learn about how we are all interconnected with our environment and how we can help our beautiful county thrive.
Moderated by Ilana Stoelting – Supervising Park Ranger at Sonoma County Regional Parks. Guest Speakers – Dan Levitis and Leah Halper
Dr. Dan Levitis teaches zoology, ecology, evolutionary biology, demography, and conservation biology at the university level. He is Community Science Coordinator for Sonoma Ecology Center.
Leah Halper is a retired historian and teacher whose work on climate change reflects her interest in the survival of plant and animal species, including humans. As a person of Jewish descent, she works to bring justice and equity to the Tikkun Olam solutions we choose.
