Join us for a two-part Presentation with discussion to follow Sunday September 18th and Sunday October 2nd at 2:00pm Professor Ben Benson is of mixed heritage, Jewish and American Indian. This has given him unique access to Native cultures in both North and South America. While serving as coordinator of Native American Studies at Santa Rosa Junior College,
Professor Benson assembled a 3500-piece collection of Native Art for the Jesse Peter Museum, where he still serves as Director Emeritus. He regards being tutored by Native elders in Sonoma County as one of his most profound experiences. His multi-media presentation, at Congregation Beth Ami, will share the core features of the ancient Native American
heritage of the North Bay region, which have fascinating similarities to our Jewish tradition.
This event will be available on Zoom. See CBA calendar for access. To protect all of our congregants, we are asking that masks be worn indoors.
Sponsored by the Congregation Beth Ami Committee on Racism and Social Justice.
