Once again we have suffered through another fire and evacuations and power outages. It is hard to believe that fall has become such a frightening time in Sonoma County. As November is upon us we are all hoping for rain. Sooner than later.

The SAC has continued to plug away and do what little we can to provide home cooked meals at The Palms. This month we decided to distribute 100 meals as the need is so great. Judi Hyman and Michele Zygielbaum delivered the food and let us know how appreciative everyone at The Palms is when they hear that Congregation Beth Ami is bringing dinner. They love the food. We make chili with a bag of Fritos, corn bread and brownies.

I want to thank everyone in the committee for their tireless commitment to this ongoing project. Great work!
The weather is going to change quickly and people will be needing many items to provide warmth. I am not sure how to distribute and where distribution will be possible, but think about collecting hats, scarves, gloves and socks. When we know where the best places to drop off are, we will let everyone know. Thanks in advance for your thoughtfulness.

The Redwood Empire Food Bank is doing an amazing job to provide food for the thousands of Sonoma County residents that are dealing with food insecurities. Please consider volunteering or donating money. Contacts: refb.org. (707) 523-7900.
I’m reminded that during these precarious times it is important to reach out to neighbors and friends and strangers who may need a friendly smile, a telephone call, a card, a hello and how are you? We all need connection now.
